Want diagnostic ability...manuals and scanner.

So I want to get a code scanner and manuals to really know what's going on with my truck.

It seems the best bang for the buck is a Scangauge II. Yes I do have a laptop, but I'm not interested in AE cause I already have software for the other car I own and don't really have use for all the extra abilities of AE. Plus I like having the scangauge on board.

Is this the same scangauge that other places are selling for nearly double the price? SCAN GAUGE II FOR VEHICLES BUILT AFTER 1996 - JCWhitney

After doing some reading, I have decided not to buy a printed manual, but just rely on everything we have here online.

Thanks

Sounds like you already have your mind made up.

But the thing is with our trucks you can just hook any scanner or scan gauge up to them. You have to get one that works with the powerstroke.

Re: Want diagnostic ability...manuals and scanner.

So I think I just realized there are many different products with the generic "scan gauge" designation correct? Many of these in the shape of a small gauge? Do all of these perform similar functions? Deliver dtc info also?
