Changing side lights on TT mirrors.

I am needing to change one of the light assemblies on the driver's side mirror. Does the whole cover need to come off? or is there a way to pop the light out of the cover without breaking anything.

I dont mind removing the whole cover piece to access the light assembly....but am scared of breaking the tabs etc on the cover.

Thought maybe some of you guys running the Recon lenses could help me with this.

I would imagine, judging by the multiple bank teller thingy ma jigs I have smacked with the mirrors on my dads 06 KR, the mirror lights probably have to be removed from the inside. WAG

yes you have to remove the back cover of the mirror. there are 3 tabs behind the glass that you have to release. 2 at the top and 1 on the bottom on the side closest to the truck.

Just adjust your mirror all the way in and out and each time reach behind with a long screwdriver and pop out the tabs for the cover. then remove it...

Once you get it apart you pretty much can only get the lights out one way... there are some triangle tabs that snap into place...
