find a bed?

Hey guys, I am looking for a truck but most of what I am finding with the options I want have a flat bed. How hard is it to find a bed? 8' if it matters. The yards around me don't put stuff like that out, or I haven't ever seen a SD bed in a scrap yard. Any good places to get one?

thx

Re: find a bed?

The 8' beds are easy to find. I could probably find 10 in about 5 min on local classfieds.

Lots of go fast parts and still slow.

Re: find a bed?

sometimes dealers will have take-offs if the customer orders a new truck, then wants a service body and didn't get the box delete option.

i got an 07 8' bed less tailgate from a dealer in NC for $500. it was even stored in a shed out of the weather..i had to drive about 3.5 hours one way to get it but i couldn't bet the deal. around here they normally sell around $1000 less tailgate..
