7.3 or 6.4

which is more reliable? which has better mpgs modded? more power? which has more problem? thanks guys

The 7.3 is proven reliable. The 6.4 makes more power mod for mod. I'm not sure what kinda fuel mileage the 6.4 has been getting, but the 7.3 is usually between 16-20.

Does the price have a factor in your desicion because the 6.4's are not cheap by any means?

It would be nicer to have a newer truck. The 6.4s get good mileage once you delete the DPF. The 7.3s are tried and true, but are really outdated and dollar for dollar you are better with a 6.4 as far as performance parts go.

the price isn't a huge thing but can't go higher then they are asking for the 6.4. I also didn't know if they mad any changes in the 6.4 in the years they made it.

i went back forth between the two when i was shoppin for truck the past month or so. i ended up goin with a 7.3...easier to work on.
