tires and wheels 2002 250

I know this is probably a worn out subject so I apologize... however looking for some guidance in giving my old girl a little facelift maybe.

Re: tires and wheels 2002 250

I am running 285/75/16 on stock wheels which are 16" Lariat wheels. I don't have any rubbing issues right now, and would like to keep it that way.

Looking at getting new rims, maybe a little wider as the current tires are sucked in pretty good on these rims. Don't really want spacers.

What size/offset would I need to keep the rub issue at bay? Don't mind maybe an inch past the fender well maybe...

Would any of you go up to a 17" wheel?

May do a 1-2" lift as well... not going crazy with it. I just did a 2" lift with Nitto Tere Grapplers on our Jeep and have been very pleased so far.
