Question about train horns

Ok, just got me some train horns from hornblasters but I dont know where to mount the tank? Does the drain valve on it have to point down? Any pics would be great, Thanks!

How large is the tank? You should be able to mount it to the outside of the passengers side frame rail. I had 2 tanks mounted there on my old SD. (1) 7 gallon, and (1) 5 gallon.

There is this damn thing called gravity, so I dont think the water that forms in your tank from condensation is gonna flow out if the drain valve if its pointing upward. Sorry, I had to.

Re: Question about train horns

I guess that does sound dumb after reading it. I just didnt know if you drained it when there was air in the tank that it would push the water out??? Guess not. Its only a two gallon tank but the brackets on the tank are pointed straight up or down....so if I were to mount using the existing brackets the drain valve would be pointed sideways....

Do you have access to a welder / fab tools? I would make a new bracket that would bolt to the frame and come outwards. Then, bolt the tank hanging from that.

Re: Question about train horns

This is my setup from hornblasters. I have a 2 gal. tank. Everything is mounted to a steel plate and that mounts up where the spare tire goes.

Re: Question about train horns

I had my tank mounted where the spare was. was a 5 gal tank though...... My horns are mounted on either side of the cab right behind the front wheel wells makes is invisible but also very loud to whoever is in front of me and needs to move. Having emergency horns doesn't hurt either

Re: Question about train horns

Ok, I managed to get everything in today, now im just down to the wiring. Anyone know which wire is for the horn trigger so I can tie a toggle switch into it?
