Paint chrome or buy primed/painted parts?

Has anyone here sucessfully prepped and painted their chrome bumpers? I want to colormatch/black out my truck and debating whether I should get a set of XL/FX4/King Ranch painted bumpers and get them painted black to match my truck or get my existing chrome bumpers sandblasted prepped and paitned to match?

Let me know your experiences and suggestions.

Thanks

Re: Paint chrome or buy primed/painted parts?

buddy of mine (who is a professional painter) spent hrs prepping his bumper and painted it white to match his SD, it looked awesome and was perfect, it lasted about 2 years before it started to peel and flake off.
