Highway driving

Ok so i am a fairly new 7.3 owner, and i drive alot of highway miles. I used to drive at 75mph but since i got my F-250 i only drive at about 69mph cuz of how high the rpms are at 75. I know these engines are beasts, so i was wondering if it will hurt the engine in any way if i set my cruise at 75mph?

Re: Highway driving

I've set my cruise as high as 85mph. Which, if I remember correctly, is about 2500rpms.

Re: Highway driving

You can set the cruise at whatever you want. The only thing you might hurt is your fuel mileage.

Re: Highway driving

I am pretty sure that it has 3:73, but i am not positive, is there anywhere on the truck that it specifies. at 69mph my rpms are at about 2100-2200

Re: Highway driving

Ok good, cuz i was just a little worried that cruising with the rpms up that high might damage the engine, but it sounds like it will be fine.
