making a square hole in dash, need help

I'm installing auxiliary switches in my dash, where the 4x4 knob would be. What is the best way to cut through the dash so I can put the switches in? Any help would be appreciated!

Drill a hole big enough to fit a small saw blade in it, then cut out the square. Or use a cutoff wheel but that's not easy to cut square with a wheel. Up to you.

Brother James

Ps...Im pretty frickin awesome!

multitool works great for plunge cuts into plastic

You can heat up a steak knife and push it through also, remove, heat, cut, remove heat cut until you have your square

^^^ that oscillating multi-tool works great for this type of thing, long as the width of the plunge blade isn't wider than the sides of your hole
