99 f250 mirror swap

I have a 99 f250 with the small "dog ear" mirrors (not powered) and I just bought heated power tow mirrors. I was wanting to know if anyone has done this and what's involved with doing the swap?

Your truck may have the pigtail in the door for the mirrors and switch but I doubt it, if thats the case you will have to print off schematics and figure out a way to wire it up. Also they never offered heated mirrors as an option for your model so that will have to be wired up regardless.

Re: 99 f250 mirror swap

the mirrors bolt rite in place of the dumbo ears.
i just did the same thing to my 04. only difference is i did not hook up the power mirrors. just the heat.
i ran a wire from the battery to a circuit breaker and relay then to the door and mirror. other wire direct to ground.
then i put a switch with light from a switched power source in the fusebox through the firewall to the relay. this way the switch only triggers the relay, and the power for the mirror goes from battery to circuit breaker, into relay, and out to mirror

owner of almost to many fords.

If you want the moral high ground, make sure you're not standing on a hill of horsecrap.
