Re: 6.7 bumper swap

I have both a 2004 and 2016 F350 in my driveway. I have plans to use my 2004's Road Armor bumper and modify it to fit my 2016, but not until next summer. Will need to adjust the grille drop, the frame horn reinforcing bracket and end to line up with the fender arch. Comparing with a tape measure, the 16 bumper's main bolts line up with the 04's. The difference is the 2004's grill is narrower so there will be a gap where the drop begins. Both have the same depth drop. I didn't look at the brackets that keep the ends from flapping.

Re: 6.7 bumper swap

I know this thread is old but what was the end result here? I'm curious because I have an Iron Cross bumper for an 11-16 that I want to mount to my 04 F350. I've read where some guys have drilled another hole at the top of the front brackets to lift the bumper to the grill but am unsure how the sides bolt up.

Most people donít bolt the side brackets up.

Re: 6.7 bumper swap

Ok, thanks Sbluke. I can see where the side bracket is needed more on a OEM bumper and not so much on a 10 gauge steel one.

Re: 6.7 bumper swap

Iím not running side brackets on my oem bumper. I believe itís only to help it from folding in.
