Coolant filtration system

What do oh guys think of a coolant filter, I'm kinda new with diesels and I'm not sure what it actually helps, I know it filters the coolant, can it help prevent my head gasket growing

I have one and love it! Made my own kit, it more less saves ur water pump from going bad due to the sand casting inside block.

7.3 not required but helpful
6.0 and 6.4 pretty much required
6.7 I'm not sure.

Guys who had 100k on their7.3 trucks with regular coolant service reported getting casting sand in the filters after installing a coolant filter.

I think the cleanest way to install a coolant filter is to change out the water pump for one that has the integral filter. Both IH and DieselSite have them for the 7.3. You do have to change out the oring for the filter shutoff valve.
