Safe to drill or cur ???

Got a question, I plan on adding some after market electronics and was wondering if its safe to drill into the panel right below the a/c vent on the right hand side of the instument cluster or is there wiring or anything behind it. As far as I can tell its open.

Re: Safe to drill or cur ???

turn on the ign, put the trans in low 1, tilt the wheel down. and PULL the panel off.... the radio will come out w it and once it's free from the dash you will need to pop the radio out and unplug about 4 or 5 connections and then the whole panel will wiggle free from the dash... takes me less than a minute to get one off... then you can easily see what you are dealing with and be able to cut as needed... that panel simply pops in and out
