Options For Getting Rid Of Chrome??

Can you powdercoat chrome and make it stay?

Say... On some chrome wheels?

Is there another option?? I'd like to have the nicest finish I can. but I don't think something like "black chrome" is an option.

I'd like them to be a deep black, but not have a textured finish... Didn't UNBROKEN have his chrome wheels done in black??

Re: Options For Getting Rid Of Chrome??

Here are the Weld Sidewinders I had PC'ed a couple weeks ago. They were polished aluminum, but once they're coated (provided the guy spraying knows his stuff), they should look the same as a PC-over-chrome wheel.

There's some black powercoat out there that's pretty damn sweet.

Re: Options For Getting Rid Of Chrome??

I was quoted like 75 bucks a wheel to have my old ones powdercoated. That was if I brought them to him already blasted.

Re: Options For Getting Rid Of Chrome??

I paid $65/wheel and that included blasting, heating the wheels in the oven, and hot-spraying the powder.
