Gauge ideas. Why are they so expensive ?

Why are gauges so expensive ?

I need, at the very least, boost, turbo drive pressure and EGT.

I get why EGT is expensive, because there is a bunch of electronics in it. But why are boost gauges so expensive ? Anyone have an alternative ?

Thanks

Re: Gauge ideas. Why are they so expensive ?

Given the choice, would you rather have analog gauges or digital gauges ?

Given the choice, would you mount a pressure sender on the engine or run a boost tube right into the cab to measure boost ?

Thanks

I like analog, but some prefer digital.

Re: Gauge ideas. Why are they so expensive ?

I've seen too many posts on bad Glowshift gauges, so I went with ISSPRO EV2s. Very high quality, and they are electronic. Just mount the sensors on the engine, run wires into cab. Much easier than fooling with mechanical lines.

Im going to end up going with a complete digital monitoring system a little bit of a "professional" look imo. Just haven't done much research yet. Probably wont change up my current truck but I will definitely do it when I buy a new one

lots of 6.4's and a few 6.0's

I love my Dakota Digital gauges. They will also make custom gauges like a HPOP / Fuel pressure gauge I had them make for me

SCT, no studs...yet, Dual OEM intake air filter housings, Banks intercooler & intake elbow, Banks exhaust syatem, Windrunner ported intake manifold, Bullet Proof Diesel remote oil cooler & thermostat, AirDog2 (plus a couple spares), Power steering filter (Amsoil dual-bypass), MagTec deep ATF pan, Electric oil pre-lub pump, Dakota Digital gauges.

Re: Gauge ideas. Why are they so expensive ?

All that money you spent on that 2008 truck and soon to be putting a different engine in it for the fun of it, and you're bitching about a couple hundred dollars for gauges??
