new to me 2001

I just got rid of my obs drw
And picked up a 250 crew cab 4x4 off road package.
Has a turbo back dynomax 4" system and a cold air
And a edge tuner...
Was looking to get some 18" wheels for it...how much lift do I need for a 35" tire
Still want to be able to pull my trailer around so I want a e rated tire

Re: new to me 2001

May want to get rid of the edge, I believe you can get 35's on with just a leveling kit .... btw good looking truck, would look even better with an 05+ front end

Re: new to me 2001

I'm purchasing 18" wheels and 325/65r18 (pretty much 35x12.50) Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs this week. I currently have stock wheels and 315/75r16 (pretty much 35x12.50) I have 3 inches of lift right now and am doing add a leafs when I get the new wheels for some extra clearance to be safe. With my stock wheels the tires rub the leaf springs at full turn but thats only because of my lack of offset in the stock wheels. The Duratracs are E rated so are Firestone Destination a/t and the m/t's. Most tire manufacturers recommend a wheel from 8 to 10 inches wide but some guys run 12 inch wide wheels. Also check to make sure the wheel your looking at getting is rated for at least 3200 pounds

Re: new to me 2001

A lot of 18x9's and wider in an 8 lug will be 3200 and up but I have been looking for wheels and shopping around for months and I have ran into a couple wheels from manufacturers I've never heard of that were rated at 2900 lbs.
The cheapest place I've found for wheels is WestKyCustoms out of the Lexington Kentucky area. I've emailed and called them numerous times and they are always helpful and respond fairly quick. They have multiple warehouses and offered free shipping on all the wheels I've asked about too. That's where I'm getting mine.
