Exclamation Emergency kinda

Driver side door swung open and will not latch. Please give me some ideas on what it is. Its raining and we are hualing cows and we have to hold the door shut for the time being. I wil dig into it tonight if its a sheared part or something. Please let me know if anybody has experienced this.

Re: Emergency kinda

Check to make sure the latch on the door itself is not in the latched position. If so flip it back to the open position and carry on.

No it was in the normal position when open. It will close all the way until the door ajar lamp turns off. But now we have bigger problems. Both pickups are stuck on the road. The 99 is just slid sideways and the 08 is completely gone. I wish I could upload pictures with my phone. I hope the tractor can pull us out.

Were gunna try. We are 20 miles from home and my uncle just went to get the tractor. The road is really crowned and we slid off to one side on a hill and slammed into the side of the embankment. Now we are just setting here waiting on the tractor in the snowy rainy blizzard.

Get a chance to look at your door again?

Re: Emergency kinda

I just got it torn apart. And it turns out the latch has just been cycled so many times that the latch just wore out. I can close the latch by hand and it will click and then it will come unlatched when I pull slightly. Feels like a plastic bottle cap stripping. I can just barely feel it rub when I pull. So $50 later and an hour or so and it should be good as new.
