08 diff cover

Going to change my rear diff oil next oil change.... might as well replace the cover... anyone know where to get an 08 diff cover? Dealership wants $47 which isnt too bad.... but cheaper is better.

Re: 08 diff cover

Try searching powerstrokeshop.com for this part # 8C3Z-4033-A

Its for the 08 rear diff cover..

You will need new bolts, the bolts on the stamped steel diff covers arent long enough.

Bolts: Stainless hex head 5/16-18 x 1 1/4 inch long. Used stainless lock washer. Blue locktite to 20 ft/lbs. Seal with International Grey RTV sealant.

Here is a picture of mine I just did..

You can get them anywhere, like Home Depot.

Re: 08 diff cover

it might not be the cheapest but I know dieselmanor.com sells a kit with the cover, and fasteners. Looks like you would just need the RTV and gear oil to complete the swap. http://www.dieselmanor.com/motorcraft/FD-3Z4033A.asp

Re: 08 diff cover

We put one on my buddy's truck, ordered it right from the dealer for about $47
I picked up the bolts from a screw & bolt supply shop. Pull out one of your bolts & take it in, min has to be 1/4" longer & 1/2" longer is better. You'll need 12 of em.

Re: 08 diff cover

Wow, the one from Dieselmanor used to be around $45, they went up quite a bit.
