Re: 08 mirror cap removal??

Gently pry up on one edge of the mirror itself. Look under the mirror and towards the center and you will see some plastic clips around the center hub of the mirror. I used a long pick and lifted up on th plastic tab to unclip it. Work your way around the hub doing one clip at a time and the mirror will come off. Once you have the mirror off look behind where the glass was and towards the top of the mirror an you will see two plastic clips. This is what holds the caps on. Gently pry one clip out and push it out. Then do the same for the other one.
To install simply assemble in reverse. We ran into a little problem with the factory oem caps being a littlle different. The clips on the bottom have an edge that act as the catch. These edges are shorter than the cool vue edges and made it a little difficult to get them to securely clip in place. With some gentle persuasion you can lift up on the tab in the housing itself. Be Careful or else the tab will break. After you have the new covers on simply line the glass back up and push down on it. You will hear the clips snap in place.

Sorry but I am worthless and didn't take pictures.
