Mirror popping off, can it pop back on?

Came home and dad has somehow popped the glass out of my passenger side tow mirror, the whole peice black plastic back and everything, nothing LOOKS broken, can i just pop it back in? do i need to do anything to the red boots behind ?

I would think it would just pop right back on.

I'm thinking it might be more than that... My crackhead mech at work bought a replacement mirror (glass only) for my truck after the other one got knocked clean out; popped the new one in and it doesnt move at all. You can hear the mirror doing its thing.

How exactly does the power feature in the mirror function. Those two red boots do what?

there should be little white things on the glass part that go into those red boots. its like a threaded deal threads spin in the mirror. very long skinny needle nose work good.
