External gated 38r!

yeah, yeah, yeah, Im wearing the newbie hat!

I keep reading of the external gated 38r. What power range is it necessary?
Would it be easier to do say a h2e or similiar style setup? Anybody got pics of the setup? I am just curious about it, so any information would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I like the way WOP does it as explained below...

Once my 1.15 housing is on, I would do it this way if I need it.

My personal truck has the 45mm gates on the manifolds, but that was before they released the new compact 40mm. They're nice because they are on v-band style flanges.
