Boost is simply a measure of restriction

I plan to do some testing where I fill my IC with marbles. I figure I'll restrict it til I make 60-70 psi.

No need for twins, big turbos, who needs volume?

more boost = more hp right?

We've been doing it all wrong.

So when a gauge reads 14.7psia at sea level.......I guess the Earth is the restriction???

Re: Boost is simply a measure of restriction

I'm moving someplace WAY below sealevel... that way i can make more boost than everyone else... and I'll set up a dyno and not correct any numbers... that way i'm sure i'll hit 1000 rwhp on #2 with the 7.3!!!

Hell boy, if your gonna go to all that trouble just put a hose from the outlet on the spider to the inlet. You go putting marbles in the IC your truck will weigh more and counter act the added horsepower you gained by not running the thing.

Re: Boost is simply a measure of restriction

So, charlie. When you put compounds on your boost went up right?

I guess you must have pulled an andrew and left a rag in the intake, caused a massive restriction, and that's why boost went up?

Re: Boost is simply a measure of restriction

So if you install a set of B codes and the boost goes up, no power is gained? Boost allows you to cram more fuel and air into the cylinder.

Is that not true?

Re: Boost is simply a measure of restriction

i believe greg is talking about when all other things are equal. more boost does not always equal more power.
