DB starter ?

Just wanted to clarify that this is the same DB hi torque starter that everyone is using? It seems way cheap for what I have checked other places to be.

Re: DB starter ?

That's the same one I just put in my truck... was $110 to my door. Works great so far.

I think some have had issues with those.

Re: DB starter ?

I read some of the reviews that said that they had to trim the crossmember but most said that it wasnt nesecary but was added insurance for it not to hit

Re: DB starter ?

Mine went in with no issues, plenty of clearance between the starter and crossmember.

Re: DB starter ?

I bought a DB starter for my truck two months ago and it already went out on me... If i were you, i'd take my 110 bucks and spend it towards a Lifetime warrantied O'riellys starter. If your new DB one goes out on you, your truck will be down for a week before they send you a new one. If your O'riellys one goes out, you will be running as soon as it takes you to get to O'riellys. And your comparing a year warranty to lifetime warranty. Just my .02.

You are correct... It does some way cheap. The quality of the starter is the same...

Re: DB starter ?

The DB starters apparently are not what they use to be. One place actually sent back its entire shipement according to a thread I read. I personally woudl steer clear of them until there is some indication that the issue whatever it is has been addressed. (Let others be the guinea pigs).

There were another few choices IIRC. Addison told the one he has but I forgot which one it is.

Re: DB starter ?

I saw the large frame Denso advertised somewhere but can't remember. Seems like it was in DP mag.

Re: DB starter ?

At one point I think someone identified a color difference between the black/silver starters and the starters that seemed to have troubles (gold/silver I think)

I'll keep you posted on my starter longevity.
