i really love the idea of the timer. Thanks for the info gents. Any one know about the EGT's though?
The general rule is shut it down under 300*F. The bearing in the turbo are lubed with engine oil and when the turbo gets shut down at high temperatures the turbo is hot enough to cook/coke the oil in the bearings.
Beans Diesel just posted about a week or so ago about the issue and responded in all the years they have been in business they have never seen a coked turbo.
