Push rods

Anyone got a part number for Comp cams pushrods??

What about harder valves for more heat resistance, anyone make those??

Re: Push rods

I like the give that the stockers have... if something is going to break I would rather have them bend the something else... Just my opinion...

Re: Push rods

No on the comp cams PN but BWD has a set of there push rods sitting on the shelf IRRC. As for harder valves just get them cryo treated. That will help.

Re: Push rods

I only mention this because of the Roller Rocker thread. If you want to run roller rockers they require special push rods that are not interchangable with the stockers.

Re: Push rods

If you put in inconel valves you need to make sure that you have good pushrods and good valvesprings, the only reason that you would bend a pushrod is if you were floating the valves... increased spring pressure will keep that from happening. The same goes with valves, if you are floating the valves then you have a big chance at bending them, with good springs it keeps everything on par with what should be going on... i did a gaser turbo car that had some crap valvesprings and it kept bending valves and pushrods, i put on a set of good valvesprings for the guy and he picked up 4 lbs of boost along with it fixing his problems...

Re: Push rods

Do the heads need to be removed to install the higher pressure valve springs and push rods or can it be done by pressurizing the cylinder with air somehow?

Re: Push rods

With Piston/valve clearances of only about .020 you may be able to put each piston to TDC to keep the valves from falling in. Just a thougth. I paid to have my engine assembled becasue I'm no expert.

Re: Push rods

you can apply air in the cylinders to do it with the heads on to truck, I know that matco has the fitting to go in the glow plug hole. thats the best way to do it...
