mileage in the shi**er someone's gotta have a clue

Hey guys, my regular cab 2000 F250 7.3 is getting absolute crap for mileage. Anywhere from 11-13. Truck has a cold air intake, and a superchips 1705 programmer in it. Usually the truck just runs highway all week and doesn't work to hard. I only added the superchips last week, butbefore that my mileage was still just as low. Tires are 265's and gears are 3:73's. Nothing crazy done tot he truck. I have an itp reg return to go in, just haven't put it in yet. I did a new fuel filter back in late august, and I run howes in every tank. Any ideas? I need better mileage. This things drinking fuel like a crack fiend, and for no appearent reason. Thanks

Try adjusting the nut behind the wheel
there's a whole section for MPG, and the moderator has his truck nearing 30 mpg. he'll guide you better than anyone in the performance section

Driving habits IMO make or break MPG's. Like already stated keep it under 2000 rpm's and try to hold a steady foot. It's winter time so I notice a drop in MPG's due to more idle time. But you will find far more info in the MPG section.

Yeah I'm a dumbass and was posting off my phone. Didn't realize that. I usually cruise at 75-80 but my mothers excursion has the same programmer and gets like 18mpg. My truck has 190k so I guess injector wear could be an issue?

Re: mileage in the shi**er someone's gotta have a clue

the excursion is much more aerodynamic and gear ratio makes a BIG difference too...

Your rpms are going to be pretty high nearing 80 mph and that will drag your fuel mileage with it.
