New toy Hyperpac computer

Hey guys, new guy looking for opinions or anybody who has used hypertechs tunes. Just installed the Hyperpac last Thur, found this site Fri. What a gadget. This thing is one handy little tool. It reads just about every engine sensor and function on this thing, right down to inj. pressure, real time, all the time. Calcs. horsepower, torque, ets, its supposed to be accurate, not sure. It's a touch screen computer. Has anyone used their tunes for towing or daily driving. I have been hearing alot about DP. My PSD is used for towing, not sled pulling or racing. I tow anywhere from 4000 to 20,000lbsI dont need 140hp and smoke esp. with 4.00$ fuel. Just because I have this does not mean that I cant use other tunes. Give me some honest opinions and ideas. Do you really increase mpg with some of the other tunes you guys use. It sure woke this thing up, dont know what it will do for mpg. I have not noticed any black smoke yet, but not enough use yet. Thanks

Re: New toy Hyperpac computer

I'd sell that Hyperpac as soon as you can and go with a good custom chip. I regularly tow 25k lbs GCVW with my DP-Tuner F5 and have never had an issue. I've tried many tuning options, but so far DP-Tuner has been the best for my application.

MPG depends on how you drive it. With an early 99 you'll have split shot injectors which are not conducive to good fuel economy, however a good custom program will increase mileage - how much depends on truck setup, driving habits, etc.

Nothing wrong with the hyperpac... I have seen a few trucks with them in and they seem to work well for a work truck...
