Banks Billet

After putting in my new BTS I figured I would cut open my old banks billet converter that caused my last trans failure...

Re: Banks Billet

Only had it in for a couple of months, it had sat on a shelf at my friends shop for around a year and a half when I got it. When it happened I could tell something was wrong so I limped it to my friends house got out and it sounded like a rattle can. When I went to move it into my friends driveway I put it in reverse and it locked up and killed the truck. We took a look under the trans cover and the converter had just ballooned up so I just called BTS. To be fair to banks it was dropped in a stock trans with 110 thousand hard driving miles. I

Don't know that that should have much of an effect on the converter. I'd think if anything a new, tighter converter would be a little harder on the trans.

Re: Banks Billet

Was that a multi or single disc. I have the Banks single disc converter. I hope that does not happen to mine. I have been told banks does not make their own converters.

Re: Banks Billet

A long time ago before I discovered the interweb and only knew of Banks for diesel stuff I was going to buy one of their converters. Turns out I actually got an honest salesman who stated to me that they were having some issues with their 7.3 converters at the time and recommended I wait a little while before purchasing one.
