DP F5 issues...

Just installed a new F5 from Jody. On a long drive up north in california at night I had some after market fog lights on. As I was pulling a grade a car came oncoming to me so I switched off the lights and the F5 screen went blank and the truck surged. So I thought it was my foot so I tried it again and it did it again. So I tried it again with no throttle and it was fine.

So the lights have a 30 amp fuse, and the screen only goes blank when you are driving with throttle. Anyone have ideas. I dont want to have any problems with the F5.

Re: DP F5 issues...

I'd start with the simple things like check the grounds on the aftermarket lights, check to make sure the PCM is clean enough, etc.

Level 1 Stock:
2250RMPs
67MPH
14LBS boost
800+* EGTs

Level 7 120HP
2250RPMs
67MPH
8LBS boost
640 EGTs

Throttle was about only 1/4 or less compared to 1/2. I need to put a scan gauge to see what % of pedal. So far the truck runs awesome except for the one issue.

Re: DP F5 issues...

That is an impressive look at stock vs. the 120 file. Very cool.

The ground is hooked to the Batt. And the PCM was just out and it is pretty keep. I dont know how much more I can do with that. I will check the ground tomorrow.

More tests to come. Between the rest of the files. I need to figure this one issue out.

I think he is in AZ. for some live tuning so I will have to wait tell next week. I almost dont want to use it and burn the chip up if something is wrong.
