intake and tuner

What is the best overall intake and chip for fuel economy , I have a 2000-7.3, and where is the least inexpensive place to get them at?

Re: intake and tuner

If you want effective but cheap.........The DIY Tymar intake.........
Or contact Airflo on here, he sells AFE........Which are really good......
For chips, DP tuner or TS are the tops

Re: intake and tuner

Most people say afe stage 2 is probably the best over all intake, it is also the most expensive (~$480 new). AIS probably offers the best filtration (~$200). Homemade Tymar intake can be done for ~$50 and is a great bang-for-the-buck. I just saw Airflo,a member on this site, is offering what looks to be a great setup for ~$180.
For mileage tuning I would look a the famous 80hp enco tune from To save money you can either have your pcm flashed, buy a pre-flashed pcm, or go for the full F5 chip (switchable on the fly) up to 16 settings. Before tuning, gauges are HIGHLY recommended. Most of the vendors on this site will have these setups and offer EXCELLENT customer service! Good luck, 'Leeter

Re: intake and tuner

I would check out Tony Wildman's chips. Just got a new economy burn from him 2 weeks agao and I was very happy to get 17-18 mpg highway traveling from Dallas to Wichita FAlls averaging 75 mph. He also has some great package deals on his new website:

I had the Ford AIS w/fender sleeve on for 2+ years and was very hapy with the system and used oil analysis reports showed it supplied excellent filtration. The 6637 TYMAR is less than $40. You can get them from for less than $35 delivered to you door....

Re: intake and tuner

He has package deals, great service, no rediculous chip reburn fees and been accused of "giving stuff away."

Pick your pony and ride it.
