any benefits to launching out of OD?

I have heard from a couple of buddies that I should launch my truck out of overdrive and run it til i shift into 2nd? BTW i have an auto... are there any pros or cons in doing this?

No benefit at all. Dont worry about let you tuning take care of it and you will be more consistant if you just hold it WOT, instead of playing with things.

2002 F350 DRW, 38r Turbo, Terminator T500, REG return fuel system, CTS Evo Custom tuned by Bill at Powerhungry Performance, bts converter, S&B intake, Snows Stage 3 Water/Meth. Mcculloch hids 6k.

Actually if you have a stock trans, it uses more clutch apply to lock out the OD button. I do it all the time.


On a built trans I don't think it would matter much.

So if you turn OD besides not shifting into 4th gear it changes line pressures?
