HPOP

Hey guys I did the test on my HPOP tonight well I think I did ok not sure tho.I did the test that swampsdiesel.com has I used my scanner in KPA a good HPOP will run 19,310 which = 2800psi I drove the truck from 60-90 got high as 19,000 kpa then leveled out at 13,000 KPA which is 1885 psi so 1900psi is ok I guess for a early 99which has a 15deg pump.Do you guys think I should do a 17deg pump in my truck or wait till the pulse pump comes out and get that im gonna run stage 3s mini me hybrid injectors I want them to perform as best as they can.I dont get any ICP codes in a high tune which you normally would get with a chip the only code I get is a p1249 which is a wastgate code cause I have mine blocked off so what do you all think I should do here.

Re: HPOP

You might consider pulling your IPR and rebuilding it. I was getting crappy numbers like yours a while back. Spent $20 on an IPR rebuild kit and am back to 2500 numbers. Not great numbers, but a SOP difference. Also, you can build yourself a HPOP test gauge pretty easy. Pull a head plug install it there. I tape mine to the windshield and head down the road.

If a guy is going to run hybrids, why the hell do you guys tell everyone that they need ANY sort of HPOP? Hybrids will run great on a stock oil pump. Some are better than others.

Get your hybrids, have Tony reburn your chip (with a version of "ricekiller") and smile all the way to the bank.

Yes to both.

I was running hybrids with a 15 degree pump. Hybrids grew a little, so I had to get oil.

Take a bit of the money you would have spent on oil and buy head studs. When you pull the injectors and send them off, put the studs in while you are waiting to get them back.

Re: HPOP

Marc is right, hybrids are more of a gain to start with than oil is.

Go hybrids first, head studs, turbo, fuel system and the other supporting mods and it will run good.

Hybrids still need oil though, make that part of the package when you have the extra cash and you won't be disappointed
