is 31 lbs of boost dangerous for a stock turbo? it surges as soon as you barely touch the throttle on the interstate. i have a wicked wheel in the garage , on the truck ts 140, 5" exhaust, boost tube, and a tymar intake

Re: 31lbs stock turbo

Dangerous? Only when the thrust bearing fails and sends pieces of wheels fly'n.

25-28psi is about the top of the compressor map for that turbo, anything more than that and it really cuts down on their life.

Re: 31lbs stock turbo

Use the wastegate on the turbo to set the boost to whatever you want it to be. A better idea would be to upgrade to a better turbo.
