triple stack ?

hey i have a edge EZ and a edge evolution can i stack anthor chip nwith them or is two the max?

You can only max out the computer so much...........A DP tuner or TS chip seems to get the most with the 140 setting, stacking more is pointless...........Just ditch the edge and do yourself a favor and get a chip from the guys that do there own programs per truck.........I know

ts is a good chip, most chips are based on it.
custom tunners may find a lil bit of hidden power, or at least take advantage of what you have
and tune for it. tony wildman writes custom tunes for it, as does jody at dp tuner
david at di has his tunes etc..all need guages though.

chips tend to work better then stacking. Stacking is kinda ol school now,
most have gone to chips, because have more control and less heat issues then stacking. they also deal with improving tranny shifting etc...

Let's see:

1. You have a module that fools the PCM inputs and the PCM reacts accordingly.

2. You have a programmer that changes how the PCM reacts to the inputs.

The only other option you have is to install a chip onto the PCM. However, any changes in the programming that the Evoloution has done will be over-ridden by the chip. On the same token, the corrupt signals from the EZ module will totally screw up the tuning done by whoever burns the chip. So either keep your EZ/Evo and live with it OR get custom tuning.

Keep in mind your stock injectors can only push out so much fuel which is the 120 and the 140 setting on a good chip.

2003 F-250 4x4 7.3 liter PSD EXT. cab SB. Wilson 2000 antenna, Uniden PC78 peaked and tuned with a connex 250 Linear Amp.
MODS: BTS Tranny, DIY Tymar, Hypermax 3.5 DP to 5" back, TW tunes, DI's GT38R BB turbo, autometer boost, pyro, trans, water temp a Scangauge and Firestone rear air bags.

Custom tuning is WAY better.........I only ran my TS for a few hours, It came along with my trans swap and was the wrong PCM......BUT the new PCM I bought came with a DP tuner 80 Econo setting flashed into it.......Compare to the Edge Evolution I borrowed was like night and day. the 80 Econo had more power than the Edge 100 extreme setting....

i got a dp 80hp pcm
gonna stack a edge juice w/ additude

i was told it would work
and not overide the pcm just act like a stack
and then i gots my gauges

Why take a progrmmer that supposedely is inputing stategic fuel events to maximize cylinder pressure and confuse it? Adding more fuel and more air is the way to make power, how you make it is dependent on tuning. If you stack and stack you are going to get the most un-efficient, hollow feeling power and eventually break something expensive.

Pringles, are the only chips that are safe to stack. A wise man once said

To answer your question more in-depth. The term "stacking chips" comes from the dodge guys who can have boxes that do more than one thing. For example they could have a programmer that adds more fuel, but does not increase timing. Then they can add a timing module to achieve the desired result.

Our trucks only have about 2 safe ways to increase power, first and foremost is a chip or programmer. These completely override the stock computer program and makes the drivetrain operate according to the custom tuned chip / programmer.

The other mod that is popular with our trucks is an ICP mod. This is a resistor placed in the wiring harness to the ICP sensor. It reduces the value of the reading the ICP sensor gives the PCM and therefore the PCM compensates by asking for more pressure. More pressure to the injectors = more fuel = more power.

Only use this if you DONT' have a chip though, and expect minimal gains.

When you get a chip or programmer, the tuner has already increased the commanded ICP value and the ICP mod would just complicate things.
