Re: Alcohol or acetone for cleaning PCM contacts?

I used nail polish remover and everything was fine.

Re: Alcohol or acetone for cleaning PCM contacts?

depends. alcohol will evaprate completly. some nail polish removers have other things in it that might leave a residue. this is what radio shack told me about the subject.

I use alcohol. Plus if you have an accident, alcohol is far more forgiving when it spills.

Re: Alcohol or acetone for cleaning PCM contacts?

just don't scrub too hard whatever you do! i can't remember if the contacts are gold but, if you start to see the copper showing thru the edges, stop going across the connections. go length wise instead of across the conductors, or you may have to have the board retinned.not tryin to scare you, cause they need to be cleaned properly! just don't clean so far as to see the metal underneth the first layer too much!!! and ya, i used alcohol beause i used all my nail polish remover at hollowen, or that drag party i went to, oooooppss!!
