[email protected] Ford Dealership!!!

I went to the ford dealership because I was off today. I removed the Big Hoss before I took it in. They have been bugging me about my CPS for the last two years. I take it in and they said come back in two hours. Fine. I go back plug the BH back in and truck wont start. I wait try it again. I go inside and say truck wont start with my chip plugged in. I also tell the service guy that I told them not to do anything with my ecm. "Oh, we re-flashed, because there is a higher-mileage, newer flash out that will help your trans. It should also help with fuel economy in colder weather." I said well can you put it back to the old one or even to the original NVK1. "Sorry I cant go backwards. Only update." I asked for the ford bin/code# of the flash. "I dont have that info. It only tells me if their is newer software available." Banks says they'll burn me a new chip if they can get the bin code #. Fcukin A' if ford says they cant get it.

Plan B, I went to a trans rebuilder I know and he hooked it up and the reader said "go to Ford". no bs that is exactly what it said. He is the one that got me the code three months ago so I could buy the chip.

What do I do now?! I feel as though I should have been warned or at least helped out after the fact that they(ford) re-flashed my ecm. It almost seems like they dont want me running a chip. My truck has 240k on it. They arent liable for repairs. Any body have a suggestion?

2000 F250 4x4 cc/sb. 6" w/37's and some other stuff.

That sucks !! Thanks for posting this I won't take my truck in .They keep sending me the cam sensor recall and the one for the cruise/brake switch.

The real reason Im so irked is that Ive driven the truck stock since it was new. Ive had it chipped for three months and now Im back to square one. I cant send this chip back. Apparently I cant get the flash code either. Banks is behind me saying they'll burn me a new chip once I get the info. The dealership must have some flashware that blocks scantools from reading the numbers. Im soooooo pissed right now...and yes the Big Hoss module did help with my fuel mileage, and by putting the power elbow on, as I gained about 2mpgs over my stock setup running a downpipe with a downturn on it.

Does this seem wrong to anyone that they re-flashed my ecm?

Get a different chip based on PMT1 is my opininion but MRT3 (XU2F-RD) appears to be the latest flash for NVK1 if my records are up to date.
Banks must not use a 4 bank chip.....lol

and ford can tell you the info and they can flash it back to as built data using the vin info there just being dic*s

I can afford a new chip from someone else but I cant justify it as I have a stock trans with 240k on it. I wanted to get a built trans and injectors next. I suppose I could call banks and tell them MRT3 is the new flash and hope that it works. The biggest disappointment is the thing shifts like chit now...mushy and it hangs in between shifts...

I know ppl dont like Banks around here but I was kinda relying on their ##### 120 hp tune to keep from roasting my trans until next spring when I planned on doing the stick and trans. Knowing what is available now Id rather have something else but god just the 120hp tune w/trans shift remapping made the truck feel like it had twice the nuts. How much is a new chip from anybody on here who is willing to post it in this thread.

this pisses me off, since ford didn't have permission to touch the pcm, and the only thing you brought it in for was the cps I would push the dealer for the code, escalate as needed, service writer, service manager, gm, ford warranty rep. I wouldn't let it go until you get the codes.

If it was me, they would reflash it back to the way it was built. They might cuss me a bit, but they would do it. I can cause a rightous scene when need be.

Be calm, talk to the service writer, when he says no, demand to speak to his boss. So on, up the line, till you get to the guy that owns the dealership. If he says no, inform him that you are fixin' to start disturbing his customers if he does not satisfy you. You are simply asking for your truck to be put back the way it was when it was brought to them. After about the third person, start raising thhe volume with each additional person. But never ever get mad. Works every time.
