mileage and mods

I had a friend ask me about getting some 238 hybrids and a 38r turbo on his 2000 f250 w/ 140k miles on it. Is that too much for a motor w/ that many miles on it? He says it runs great on his dptuner f5 chip, afe stg1 intake, and 4" turbo back exhaust just wanted some more power like mine but I dont have near that many miles so that I would ask around to those that may have more miles on their trucks w/ those mods.

Thanks

Re: mileage and mods

I put 238 hybrids, a H2E, studs, springs, and an Adrenaline HPOP on mine about 4000 miles ago. I am pushing 280,000 miles.

Re: mileage and mods

If the motor is in good condition its perfectly fine. He will need some supporting mods as well. Fuel system, head studs would be a good idea as well as valve springs and push rods since you are in there.

Re: mileage and mods

That is just broken in.

I put in 238's with 270K miles, and now have about 340K. Engine has never been touched except for valve springs and pushrods.

Re: mileage and mods

insurance against a floating valve due to pressure/higher rpm.

I would deff do them with a 38r, and prolly studs too.

Re: mileage and mods

And Andy is running a bit more than a 38R. Have you ever had that thing on the rollers? It is impressive all this time with OEM head bolts.
