manifolds leaking on my 7.3

anybody ever put gaskets in there i understand there are none from the factory what brand should i buy and some tips so i don't break the bolt off in the heads. thanks Brad

i use the felpros on my headers and plan to use one when i fix the manifold leak on my sd.

Looked at your truck today, looks like you got your driver manifold off without an issue.

You got the good gaskets too

The Felpro # is MS93489. They've been working well on my truck for a little while now.

anyone got any good ideas on getting broken bolts out passenger side broke 3 bolts off still some bolt sticking out of the head.

that's how they usually break...since they seize in the manifold (on the shank of the bolt)...

they typically spin out with a pair of vice grips clamped on what remains of the bolt.

soak the head/threaded area with a good penetrant, like... Kroil

when they break IN the head...that's baaaddd...we machined a tool with drill bushing inserts so we can drill out what's left and remove it with an extractor...but its a total PITA.

we use the Felpro gaskets and new stainless hardware with lock washers...and lots of anti seize .

A small pipe wrench works well for getting them out. I also used a stud extractor to get a couple of mine out. Like this one.

major PITA rusted in bolts, my obs was leaking bad on the drivers side. It was well worth fixing, I used ford gaskets.

97 F250 4x4 RC Lifted 4 inches. rollin on 35's STT
4" exhaust, Cobalt gauges, HPX, 17* hpop, idm mod, DIY intake,
Intercooled by me
(6700 lbs)
