Looking for van turbo need help

I have been wanting to upgrade the turbo because I want to do either 80% nozzles or stage 2 injectors. I have been looking for used turbo's and saw some guys with van turbos in there signatures making pretty good power. So my question is what year van turbo do I need so that it will be a direct swap. I plan on putting my wicked wheel on it and having it rebuilt and balanced along with a ported housing.

I would like to make right at 400rwhp with stage 2 sticks, termi modded hpop, new tunes, and a van turbo. Is this possible?

Re: Looking for van turbo need help

From what i have read on all the posts about van turbos is that they already come with the WW. All the WW is, is the compressor wheel out of a van turbo...i have a early 99 motor out of a van and have been thinking about the same setup...ill be reading along.

Re: Looking for van turbo need help

99-03 will be a direct bolt up with the exhaust flange adapter for the down pipe. Don't put a WW in the van turbo. The stock wheel flows more air and you will not have a surge problem with the 1.15 a/r housing.

I have been running a van turbo on my truck for about 3 years now and would never go back to a stocker.

Lots of go fast parts and still slow.

Re: Looking for van turbo need help

So I take it all year van turbo's will directly bolt up to 99.5-03 sd's as long I get the flange adapter.
