Re: Cant get turbo off

I use a 4 foot bar that way I can hit it a little better. Just be patient. That is the worst part of taking it out other then putting it back on.

Re: Cant get turbo off

I had the same problem when I pulled mine. I ended up leaving the whole wye pipe on the turbo. I removed one up pipe and then just pulled the turbo and wye pipe off the other up pipe. My up pipe gaskets were shot. It is alot esier to split on the work bench.

Thats a good idea. The drivers side uppie is pretty easy to get off and the y-pipe would probably slide off the other side at that point.

Re: Cant get turbo off

Huge trick I learned about on one of these forums after I struggled with this clamp for an hour or two: give it a bump with an air hammer. I started laughing when (after struggling for two hours busting a nut) I bumped it with my air hammer and it instantly just fell off. I live in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where everything underneath the truck is rusted all to heck.
