which turbo?

i have a 2001 f250,7.3, 130k, wicked wheel, 6637,ccv delete,3 guage pod, 4" turbo back, AIH delete, and tony wildman tunes.
im looking into replacing the turbo but dont want to go too crazy, lookin for 450 hp/1000ft lb. i see alot of people getting this kind of power out of a van turbo. is this reliably possible?

Re: which turbo?

238/80 hybrid injectors
Garrett 38R Turbo

Over 400 you will need a fuel system. RR good idea, larger or dual pumps feed line

Good idea but still somewhat optional: Valve springs, studs and push rods as you will be in there anyways.

Re: which turbo?

I would stick with the 38r. Yeah it can be done with a Van turbo buy why try it when a 38r is a proven setup for that kinda power

1999.5 F-250 7.3l 4x4 6 spd Ported Heads, Head studs, valve springs, DI Push Rods, DI RR, 38R, Walbro fuel pump, 238cc Injectors from Nate @ Unlimited Diesel and Tuned by Matt @ Gearhead Automotive

Re: which turbo?

38R medium oil and shoot for 380ish w/ stock sticks.

Add in some small Hybrids to jump to the 450ish range.

I'm officially...Stroke-less.

Re: which turbo?

i can get a van turbo for 6 or 7 hundred, or a 38r for 1400, or a H2E for 2100. see where im commin from. all i do is drive it, i dont want to end up with 5 or 6k in a modded motor that needs a 8k rebuild to get all it can be. i just want some more power. i plan on doing the intank stuff, regulated return and HPX soon. then turbo and lastly injectors, my plan was a van turbo, stage 2 single shots, and new tunes.

casey, 2001 f250 lariat, 7.3, 130 k, 4" turbo back, wicked wheel, ccv delete, AIH delete, wildman tunes SOLD

08 f150 lariat..practical
