Installing TS Chip, Having Problems PLEASE ADVISE

Ok, here goes:

I have an e99 6sp drw. I received my TS Chip today and installed it. I have done one before so I have been through the process, and was successful last time (on my old 96 F350).

Here is what is happening now on my e99:
When I start the truck in the STOCK position, it is slightly rougher at idle than normal for a minute then evens out. When revved up, it is rough when returning to idle.

HERES WHERE THE TROUBLE REALLY BEGINS:
When I switch it from STOCK to HI IDLE, the truck nearly dies, then flashes all lights on the dash as though I just turned the key on, and then proceeds to carry out its function. 50% of the time the truck even dies when this switch is made.

The remainder of the settings on the chip have a very rough idle, and it seems almost as though the truck is in limp mode, though I have not seen a CEL.

I have checked and recleaned the contacts 3 times now. I am not sure what else to try....yes I unhooked the batteries and put the keys in my pocket before any sort of work around the PCM.

HELP

Chip says its burned for an AWA3 pcm, which is what I have...

I used the supplied scuff pad and cleaned the contacts with paint thinner as instructed on both top and bottom...

The family should be good but if its PMT1 based tunes without changes which might have been loaded by accident that sounds like things that could happen.

Give whom ever the tuner was a call as it sounds like you got the wrong base tunes. The sticker does not mean the wrong tunes were not loaded .

Sounds like the tuner put some late 99-01 files on your chip... I would talk to the tuner you got it from...

But I am guessing you went to Flebay... and will get little help...

Did not know they were on the list of recommended tuners

If you did go ebay try and contact them and tell them the issue MAYBE they will send you the swap of some sort. If it was a tuner or TS direct or vendor I am sure they will take care of it if that is the issue.

May not be the case, but I deal with it all the time on another site... People get all caught up in the price (chips, turbos, gauges) and then when there is a problem there up the creek...

good vendors are worth there SMALL added costs.

Re: Installing TS Chip, Having Problems PLEASE ADVISE

So true!!!

I agree completely. Not only that but you have not idea what you are getting on that chip. It could very well be some old tunes or hacks that were copied off a chip which is easy enough to do. Then used to re-burn a bunch of blanks to make some cash. No way to know if those tunes happen to be ones with PW and ICP all jacked up among other things. I want to know the qualification and rep of someone that's product could very quickly window my block if down wrong. Wrong time to go Chinese/eBay.
