EGT readings

Hey guy's I just installed a Hydra chip in my 01 7.3 automatic transmission, I had it on the 65hp daily driver tune and when I mat it the egt's jump all the way to 1100+ by the time it gets to 3rd gear. Is this normal for the egt's to spike so fast? Thanks guy's

Re: EGT readings

EGTs are safe up to 1250*. I have a tune that will bury the needle in a few seconds, so 1100* is normal, yes.
