Muffler/ Muffler delete?

Putting a new exhaust on my 2000 cab & chassis. Currently its pretty loud because the exhaust was cut off right behind the cab and a 3" piece of flex pipe installed to just point it at the side:)

Because its a c&c the exhaust choices are more limited but one thing I found at riffraff had a choice of a muffler or muffler delete exhaust kit.

Will the muffler hurt the performance when I put a chip in it next year? Based on the youtube clips the sound isnt too bad with straight pipes and will be much quieter and better than what it is now. Since it dumps about a foot behind the pass. door :)

Re: Muffler/ Muffler delete?

All the "c&c" kits I've installed have still never seemed to fit right, always had to cut the pipe that goes over the rear axle and do a "pavement painter" (axle dump) setup. Looks cool though. Maybe it will work better for you. A muffler will not hurt performance for you, but I personally like the straight pipe sound.

Shoulda bought a Cummins.
