What year is my 7.3

I need help identifying what year my 7.3 is. The drivers side valve cover says 1997 and the passenger side says 1999. I have attached some pics. Can anyone tell.

The truck is a 2003 f250 4x4 automatic. Originally had a 6.0 but I bought it with the 7.3 in it.

Re: What year is my 7.3

According the the PCM code of NVK4 it is a 2000.

However I would get the vin number off of the engine and go from there. It is stamped on a flat piece of the block above the oil filter.

96 F250 XLT 4x4, 4:10 gears, 5 speed, Tymar intake and HX hose, downpipe, pyro and boost guages, coolant filter, Luc clutch

Don’t matter regardless - it was missing parts so original owner threw it together. Just check if you have 3” intake plenums - 99.5-2003

I have a 2002 but my pcm is off of a 2003 vdh5. It’s like a free tune b/c the vdh2 was a dog.

Edit. Btw. Let’s just say it was a 99, cudos b/c you have forged rods now :) blocks from 94-03 are the same and interchangeable. 97 was when it was built a little thicker - nothing special.
