I know the KC would be the better overall set up, but at more than 1000 more, it hurts my budget AND its a few weeks out at best (ive already been told 2 weeks like 4 weeks ago).
Need to do up pipes, and rebuild my badly leaking fuel bowl ASAP. Figured while I was in there to do boots, glow plugs, gaskets, etc. Im at 185K on the odo. I mostly daily drive on the freeway, and tow 10K fairly often.
Was looking at either going to the KC38r turbo OR rebuilding mine with a riffraff wheel, EBV delete pedestal, high flow outlet and 360 bearing kit and a turbo master wastgate. This will be about 1K less than a new turbo.
I dont need to be the fastest out there, but would like to lower my EGT's while towing, and having more power for climbing the sierras would be nice. Would I be happy with the rebuild or do I really need to just pony up for charlies turbo?

For the up pipes use Amazon and they are under $100.
Use ford uvch and glow plugs. Skip the waste gate actuator. Was of money. Then just get a billet wheel and a 360* thrust washer rebuild kit.
