Re: fast injectors

The only thread I know of specifically talking about them was the one I started. It was only started to talk about the benefits of faster injection and to show the general direction that needed to be taken with injection. "faster injectors" were around long before I posted the thread and will be around for a long time to come. My old pulling truck was running injectors with some of these mods - all my fueling was done using 200% nozzles built by Cass. Blowby's truck is running Swamp's version of faster injectors. Nate's shortbox stepside was running his version of "fast injectors."

I'm not sure what you want to know or are looking for.

Re: fast injectors

Here is the one started by HRT: Injectors, PW, and Flow rates! OH MY! - Powerstroke Nation

Part of what is being talked about what is refereed to as Fuel side and Oil side modes (SHO), correct?

There are a number of posts speaking about these and other pertinent and related info. The thing is you have to actually take a good amount of time to dig thru many posts and threads to get bits of info here and there. Other than HTRs there is no collection of "injector mods thread" The info is there (maybe not the exact detailed of step by step what was done but the general info is. Certainly more info than most realize I would think as is the case with most things.) I have been very interested in really understanding the HEUI and what it takes to get real perf from it and thus put in time to research it. From forums it takes spending hours going thru threads/posts starting way back that are not so titled to make it easy to find.

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on your perspective, very few people are willing to put the time in to search for the info.

There are a number of other threads that have info thru out the forum but it takes work to find it all. IMHO, lots of info for those willing to take the time.

Wish much of the detailed info did not need to be guarded but understand why.

Ah - that part of the thread was more in the hypothetical "we should be able to but haven't proven it" area. To the best of my knowledge no one has tried and tuned that combo, and obviously there is way more there than just tossing injectors in the truck. There is actual fuel quantities that should allow for that HP level to be achieved. But remember - Nate's truck although it had 455cc injectors was limited to about 1.6ms of total PW confirmed by a scope on the steet by me. I don't have the raw data in front of me but that was about 200-230cc of fuel and dyno'd at 530ish with minimal tuning. More tuning would have taken place if it hadn't of been for other issues that were occuring at the same time.

Reviving this thread made me go look at my notes - 1.6ms of PW on Nate's injectors are about 195cc of fuel on the bench - so its certainly no more than that in the truck and most likely a little bit less.

What do you want to know? Certain injection shops increase the flow rate of the injectors beyond what is possible with just a tip and plunger/barrel swap. They all have similar mods - but I am sure that each one of them has thier own unique twist that makes them special. This is not a new concept - but one that was brought to public attention to help people understand why the HEUI fuel system is not known for high HP applications.

Blowby's truck is the most notable truck at the moment running "fast" injectors built by Swamp's.

Unlimted Diesel has a couple of pulling truck's and Nate's personal truck having injectors that follow this philosophy. In fact the thread mentioned above used data from Unlimited to help show the differences.

Full Force Diesel has built some as well and can be found in some pulling trucks (my old truck for example - it was only running 200% tips, but they were "faster" than just installing the tips). My personal injectors have all been built by Cass so far.
