intake heater and ae

why will ae not run a cyl contribution test just because the intake heater is gone? it came back with a code for the heater and thats it. it never sounded like it ran the test. when i do it on mine it will pop kinda and sometimes blow rings, but on dads it never sounded like it tested.

Re: intake heater and ae

I didn't know that either. I pulled that AIH relay out and then wouldn't pass a CC test and I don't think it passed the Buzz test either. I spent a couple days pulling crap apart trying to figure out what was wrong... Eventually I figured it out...

Re: intake heater and ae

Is his an obs?

The SD's wont feel like the PCM is dropping cylinders individually like it does on your OBS.

If all that came back was a AIH code than it did not pick up any contribution faults.

It will still report any faults it see's during the test.
