Will the hx40 or 50 bolt up to a h2e mount? What is the benifit of a hx to the stock h2e running 238 hybrids 100% nozzles

Re: h2e hx50??

Not too many ford guys runnin around with an HX series turbo, that i know of at least. Id stick with an H2E.

A h2e can handle those size sticks fine in stock form. As for your question im not sure

Re: h2e hx50??

Back in the day the HX50 was a popular choice to run with 530 hybrids. But there wasn't much avalable back then ether.

Re: h2e hx50??

a hx 50 and a h2e are basically the same. the same wheels and all interchange. the sweep on the exhaust housing is the biggest diff.

Re: h2e hx50??

they are cheaper to find and im kinda on a budget and want to have an idea on what im going to spend. Is the sweep on the exhuast housing better on one or the other or about the same?

A stock one would even work well

Found this on the Web......

JRod

I had an hx50 - 2.8 with a 17 cm turbine housing on it. I was told that finding the 17cm housing was the most difficult part of the whole build. I do not think you are going to find a stock hx50 with a 17cm housing on it. I would bet you would have to buy the housing separately, or if you get lucky enough to get a model number off of it, you probably have to buy one new. Occasionally you could find one with a 19.5 cm housing, but the majority of the stock applications require a much larger turbine housing - 22+.

Looks like you can machine a 17cm H2E turbine housing to fit the HX50. So figure on some machining costs and the cost of the H2E housing.

It was also mentioned they are weak.......

Re: h2e hx50??

i am really not sure how much diff the housing is as far as bolting on, ill have to try it. i have not seen them to be weak. i was told by a builder one time that they only last one pull or they live a long life.
