which turbo for my 99

what is a good turbo for my early 99 i think i am stuck with a h2e or d66. i am thinking the d66 for the easy install compared to the h2e i have a gen 3 big oil set-up to install and may go with injectors like stage twos or something in that area don't want to get crazy with it. i have been pushing the factory charger for 4 yaers now and i think it may be time to upgrade and the injectors could use some help to.Thanks for any help Brad

If you are not going to go with anything thing bigger then stage II's or even small hybrids. I would say a D66 or a Super D66 from Unlimited Diesel with good tuning would be alright for you.

But the H2E is a really good turbo also. you just have to get a mounting kit for it.

You have the oil, you will want larger injectors in the future I would guess. Go with the H2E if that is the case.

On the other hand, the D-66 is a great turbo also!!

Id go with the h2 set up. I was in the same boat as you with my e99. H2e gives you room to grow. Plus when it comes down to it the price is not to much diffrent cause if you buy a h2e you can sell your whole stock assembly.

Re: which turbo for my 99

i am confused i was looking at the d 66 but i have been reading alot and i was wondering sometimes it sounds like it is just a stock van turbo but then they say a van turbo will not bolt up to my early 99 stuff so i don't know what the deal is. then it also sounds like it is a van turbo exhaust housing that goes on my turbo and then you put the 38r wheel in it so i was wondering how you make a bigger turbo with nothing done to the compressor side of the charger. hopefully someone can clear this up for me.

Re: which turbo for my 99

On the early 99 the D-66 runs a 1.0 housing non wastegated. The compressor side is up-graded to a 66mm inducer wheel.

Come on man. You know the QSSB is a better turbocharger

Broader compressor map, quicker spool-up, and lower drive pressures when compared to the H2E. Perfect for some Stage I or Stage II injectors. Plus, it can be upgraded should you want to go bigger some time down the road.
